amp humming

my buddy has a amp in his car that sends this humming noise to the speakers and kinda changes sounds with the revin of the engine....its weird...maybe the wire is too thin....what do u think?

It's called alternator whine. The product of either the amp or the headunit having a poor grounding location. Move the amp's ground wire to a new location, and try a few different locations. Remember to remove any paint/grease/dirt/etc from the found location. If changing the amp's ground doesn't help, try regrounding the headunit by following the same process
