amp help

i got a soundstorm 800x2 rave amplifier from my cousin and ive tried 2 different sets of subs with the same result ive tried bridged and seperate channels and get the same thing. with the gain and bass boost like halfway when u adjust the low power freq to anything but the lowest it is just steady bass with no music and the only way to get any normal bass out of the amp is to put the bass and gain all the way up and the freq all the way down and it dosnt hit at all like barely any bass at all. i dont think its the wireing because i hook my rockford 500a up and have no issues. so my question is , is the amp fried? or is there somethign that i can have fixed in the amp? id like to get it fixed if i could being its a 1600 watt amp and my only other amp is 500
