i'm having a problem with the amp i just bought (crunch pzi 1500.1) http://www.maxxsonics.com/crunch/PZ_amps_details.html

It worked flawlessly for me for three days, then started acting up. It would only kick in if I turned the bass setting on my head unit up, then I could turn it back down and it'd be fine. Now, it's not working at all. Tried disconnecting and re-connecting everything, and no luck. It's definetely not overheating. It has power, it isn't in protect, and all wires are good. It just isn't giving out any sound:mad:

I guess i'll mention i'm not idiot with audio stuff. I had the gain at 50%, as well as the subsonic and level? knob. I had the head unit set at -3 on the bass setting, so the amp wasn't being pushed at all. All wiring is good, checked it all. I'm no genuis, or even close, but I know I don't want to push this amp too hard. I have the RCA's (monster cables) connected to my head unit into the rear channel, which is set to ''woofer.''

It's powering a 12'' L7 which is wired into 1 ohm. It is stated to be 1 ohm stable in both Crunch's site, and on the listing where I got it here: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ih=005&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWN%3AIT&viewitem=&item=150101453888&rd=1&rd=1

any suggestions would be appreciated. I'm clueless to what's going on. Hasn't been dropped, knocked around, ect. I had the same 4awg wires with my last setup, and no problems. Any ideas what to test? It seems to work whenever it feels like it, and I'm stumped:rolleyes: I haven't even had this **** thing a week:crap:

well, just did some testing. found out that the amp is fine, but something weird's going on with my L7. I'll post this in the sub section, but might as well post my findings here.

what I did first was switched RCA cables to make sure they weren't at fault, and they weren't. Then, for some reason I can't tell you, I decided to push the cone of the sub in a little bit to see if there was resistance, and WHAM, it smacked me in the hand:eek: then, it started working flawlessly.

So I naturally looked like //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif Then, turned the head unit off, then back on. No sound from the sub. Push in a little, and sound. Tried different scenereos about 10 times, and half the time it came right on, half the time I had to touch the sub. I could actually just touch the rubber surround and indent it maybe 1/16th of an inch and it'd start playing again. I'm happy the amp's working, but now I'm worried about my sub:crap:

I will be pulling the sub out of the box right now to make sure no wiring is messed up. Any ideas what the hell is going on, i'ld like to hear em:cool:

again, d2 voice coil L7 wired into 1 ohm.
