Amp heating

My amp is stable to 4 ohms, and I have it wored at 8, but it is getting hot... I was wondering what some common causes of this would be. And when I say hot, I do not mean 'burn your skin' hot, just pretty warm... Is this common?

BTW, its an Audiobahn a8002t, brand new...

Warm...in Fl is fine. Mine will burn the crap out of you if you grab em and they are fine.

Allright thanks. Its my first setup and I assumed the amp was to stay cool.

It should not get too hot in the winter. But the heatsinks on amps will work both ways, so it's going to soak up the heat in the air and get to ambient temp. So in my trunk here in AZ that's like 150 degrees.

And an 8 ohm load would be achieved on a DVC 4ohm speaker by wiring positive from on terminal to neg on another, then the free pos and neg from the terminals goes to the amp, correct?
