Amp going into protect mode

I just finished up installing my helix 5 channel amp, components, and 2 sundown 10's in my truck. Tried adjusting the gain and could even get it to half on just the subs and it'll go into protect mode and shut off. I have all adjustments in my head unit and amp set to 0. Pulled my multimeter out and when a big bass note hits the voltage drops to around 11 so that's my problem. Thought my alternator was shot but on my way to work today it never dropped below 13.5 and the amp still shutoof after I turned up the gain a little. Do I have to install a big capacitor or do I have to do the big 3? What else do I look for?

So where's a better spot for the ground? Or could I run another wire to my ground to test my ground connection?
the floor pan of the vehicle is better, use a bolt and get it nice and tight. seat bolts arent always the best option
