Amp going in protect mode

I have a 1280watt american bass 4 channel amp with a pair of beyma rf-1 components on channel 1&2 and one american bass 10" sub bridged on channel 3&4 at 2ohms. When i turn the gain up a little on channel 3&4 so i can hear my sub the amp will go into protect mode. I can only have the amp at a certain gain on the sub or it will going into protect mode. I checked the sub and it has a rip in the rubber. Would this be the cause? Would a CADENCE ZXW10-4 work in place of my american bass and run good with my amp? I am running a 4 guage power wire and an 8 gauge ground wire. Should i change the ground to 4 guage? by a 1 or 2 gauge wiring kit? upgrade the big 3? what should i do

do you know how to set the gains or are you using it like a volume nob?

Yeah, you are probably using gain wrong/voltage drops.

Take a wire and and connect the positive terminals of channels one and two to the main ground, along with the remote wire... should drain off any excess voltage which would put the amp into protect...

i dont know how to set them properly, so how do I do it right?
