hi

I was just wondering what might be causing my amp to go into protect mode?

im running to 12" audio bahn flaming Q's aw1206t of a lanzar viberant 4000 2 channel. im using a spl 2 farad cap and 4 guage power wire and 6 gauge ground wire. can anyone help me?

I already tried to bridge the amp twice and every time the sub starts to make a bad smell but works fine when not bridged. what should i set the gains at?

and what do u mean by make shure the load on the amp is ok ?

If the sub starts to smell that is usally a very bad sign, usually means you are giving it to much power.

Do you have a DMM (Digital Multi Meter)? If you do measure the resistance(OHMS) the subs have on the amp at the terminal.

Technically the CD player cannot make the amp go into protection, but if you play a hard bass song and you have to low resistance on the amp it may go into protection to protect itself.

But definitly get that ground to the same size as the power wire and make sure you sand down very well where you mount the ground.

check your spkr connections make sure your spkrs are in faze check the ground make sure u scratched the paint off before u put your ground on also with a 2000 amp u should have 2 fuses 1 150 amp fuse under the hood & 1 100 amp fuse in the back or trunck upgrade your g wire also atleast 4 gage dont force it. u dont need a cap if u link another battery from the 1 under the hood its more effective than a capcheaper too try those things tell me what happens

Not familiar with your model amp but I know lanzar recommends running 4 gauge power and ground wire for my amp.

Also is the amp hot? If so you might want to move to a location with more ventilation or install and external fan near the amp to get air moving over the heat sink.

Let me see what days I have free and I will try and work something out with you. It's a distance to get out to you, so I need to plan a day that I have all to my self to come out and check ur system out.
