Amp turns on fine and as you turn it up it gets to a point where it will go into protect then I back it down and it will play again. Its like giving me a ceiling on each song. Its a JL e4300 running 4 channels at 4 ohms 50 rms each. Its on speakers that cant handle 50 rms also. Do you think its got a distortion protection on it or something? Maybe its just cause there ****** speakers

Having the same problem. Check out my thread ..speakers cutting off. So far I disconnected one of the speakers and it hasn't happened again. Had this issue for over a year.

Could be lots of things from a loose ground to maybe something in the amp. You need to do some testing. To rule out problems. Like maybe a bad RCA. Speaker or even the signal from the deck or bad amp

id first check the speakers. if you have a scorch on a voice coil it will play till it hits that scorch and then go into protect. you might even be able to just fade and balance the stereo to isolate the bad speaker.
