amp getting hot

I would check each coil on your sub with a DMM.I had a sub go bad on me last week, after banging for 8yrs,throwing my configuration into a .5 ohm, rather than the 2 ohms needed/running.I pulled my subs out ,and checked all of them on that amp,and found one to be bad.Could be your issue as well?Bad coil/coils

it only happens to me in the summer time though

Need to find a way to get some air around/under that amp, or some kind of fan on there to try cool it down,if you dont want to move it, or turn it down, about all that can be done that i can think of:crap:

check the grounds too... recheck all the wires make sure everything is solid... also check the coils and the terminals on the subs.. I had 2 leads break lastweek on me and was making my amp run warmer than normal
