Amp getting extremely hot

So I was driving along jamming out to some music today, and my subs all of sudden stop playing. As I'm looking for a place to stop and figure out what happened my subs start working again, and then few mins later stop working again. So I stop and check out to see what's going on and notice that my amp is burning hot. So I unplug my rca cables, figuring that without any signal my amp would cool down. After about an hour later of driving around running errands i checked it to see if it had cooled down. Well it didnt, it had only got hotter. I had to pull the power cable so it would cool down. Wierd thing is that it didn't go in to protect. My amp is a Sundown saz 1200d. I have a high output alt, I have the big 3 done, and I am using 0 gauge wire as my power and ground for my amp. It has never gotten even slightly hot for the few years I have owned it. Any help as to what's wrong would be greatly appreciated.

I checked all my connections, and everything was fine. It was 97 today, but being that I own truck and my ac was on. The hother weather shouldn't be a problem
Hotter weather can create a problem if the amp isnt getting air circulation. Where is your amp located? Unless your amp is right under vents where AC is coming from its not going to cool the amp. Other than that you could be clipping and with heat already 97 its not liking it even more.

It is located behind my rear seats. After I noticed that it was hot I took down the rear seat to give it some air to cool down quicker. Also I had it in the same place last year during summer without any problems

My amp gets hot as well and its in a well ventilated area. It gets slightly hot just by existing after a long hour drive even with the sub off on the head unit. Idk ill figure it out one of these days. Most likely a corodded wire somewhere however voltage at the amps read good.
