Any input on amplifier gain settings. I has a pbr500x1 pushing. Sa8v2 d2. Loc=LC2i w/ harrison labs 37 hz bass blocker/ ssf. Want to crank it up but it seems mufflled at higher volumes.

Absolutely!! Sarcasm aside there is a few ways to set your gain. The dmm method is the simplest. Setting by ear won't do you much good as most novice users will go well into clipping to get it to sound like what they think it should. If you want longevity then set the gain properly, if its not loud enough then upgrade.

The muffled sound you mention could be the box though. Those 8's like a lot of port.

I believe the DD-1 is made to be even simpler than the DMM method. Will run you about $150 though

If a dmm is not simple enough that you have to buy a 150 dollar idiot light then somethings wrong.
