Amp Fuse keeps blowing

I have a 360w amp, and every time i plug the fuse in then connect the power to it, the fuse blows, its the right fuse for it, but im trying to install these subs in my car its my first time with em.

Could be a couple different things....

Firstly, what kind of amp are we talking about?

Is it New, used, refurbished?

Are your subs connected when you attach the power wire?

You may want to start by checking all the wiring to the amplifier, particularly power wiring. Be sure that no part of the remote or + have contact with the vehicle chasis. Be sure that your ground is connected firmly to bare metal.

The power wire (+) should have a fuse of proper rating within 6-8 inches of the battery.

Start with that.

Worst case scenario, you could have a blown FET within the amp.

I have seen amplifiers of various brand act in this way when a FET (MOSFET if you will) is damaged.

Hmm....a new amp thats blowing fuses, ive never heard of anything like this if its the amp itself but with it being new I highly doubt this. Try unplugging everything from the amp and then connecting only the power and grounds. If this works then hook the rest up but if it still blows then I would say you have a bad amp.

How many amps is the fuse?

the fuse has the number 15 on it

Then it should max at 150 watts I believe... sounds like the power drain may just pop the amp. Its the fuse in the actual amp or the one next to your battery?

put a 30amp fuse in there and see if it blows. check your grounds very carefully..

im having the same issue but for me its weird.... my old amp blew a fuse one day.. i replaced the fuse and the amp powered up fine.. when it got an audio signal to process it went into protect... i bought a new amp and it kept blowing fuses... but my old one didnt/dosent... i took that new amp back exchanged it for a different brand amp and the same issue...

i think this is the damdest thing ive ever seen... i dont understand how my old amp powers up fine/dosent blow fuses... but when i put in these new ones they pop instantly.... like there is a short in the wires..... but i dont see how there could be a short... i inspected my wires.... the only thing i can see is the fact that my amp is connected to the chassis... and the chassis has something to do with it..

Its happened to me before,, the amp was a dud right outta the box (PRS-X720) took it back and had it repaired under warranty.

disconnect your subs and see if it does it... how do you have your subs wired? and yeah i've seen an audiobahn do that same thing before... but it was the amp... disconnect subs and see if it still pops fuses
