amp, fuse blows every time

i think its something with the amp, cuz i tried every thing, i had a amp and subs hooked up before and then i tried that other amp and fuse blows, i even put 8 gauge in and tried that, i even tried it without speakers hooked up and tried it with speakers hooked up bridged and not bridged, i think its a shot amp and i especially made sure no wire touch any other or metal or ne thing

don't limit to yourself to just the amp....check the whole length of the power cable starting from the battery...

also make sure the speaker wires (anywhere) aren't touching ground. some amps go into protection if that happens, but if the amp doesn't have that defense mechanism, it may cause the fuse to blow.

Take the amp out of your car. Sit it on the ground next to the front of your car, on the side with the battery. Use short wire lenghts and run the REM and B+ (battery) directly to the positive terminal post on your battery, and wire the amp's ground directly to the battery's negative post. Hook nothing else up to it other than those 3 wires.....if the fuse still blows then the amp is just fucked up. If it doesn't blow, then keep the amp outside of the car connected directly to the battery and connect the RCA wires to it. If nothing happens and the fuse doesn't blow, then sit the box/subs on the ground next to the amp and connect the subs to the amp (while it's still outside of the car). If nothing happens, then you know the problem is somewhere in the wire runs/connections of the wire you are using inside your car. This will help you isolate the problem. I suspect you just have a fucked up amp, but hey.......you never know.

Your amp is probably blown. Something is wrong with the internal power supply. I bet it did not like how you wired it, and overtime it just could not handle it anymore. Either that or like Jack Frost said a wire along the way is shorting out. It could be a wire somewhere touched something hot on the amp when it heats up and shorts itself as it melts the protective jacket. Does your amp get really hot?
