okay well i had my equipment hooked up for a few days no problems and then took the amps out to put them on the new amp rack (didnt change or move any wiring).first amp everything went fine, second amp i connected the ground first then power (didnt connect remote lead) and the amp smoked and powered on (hifonics leds)without the remote lead connected.i removed the amp and moved it to another set of wires on a functioning amp and same problem.looks like i got some mosfets a capacitor a resistor and the circuit wiring in the board is split somehow.would this be a pretty simple fix?

it is not to bad to fix if you know how to work on circuit boards. the thing that is going to be the deciding factor is going to be the cost. IIRC to do the job right you have to replace all of the fets in the amp. if you have some one do it for you i could see it costing between $250 and $350. What model amp is it?

wow...this is why i ALWAYS disconnect the battery when im messing with any type of wiring in my truck,
Hell you don't even have to do that, just pull out the inline fuse! And there really isn't any "simple fix's" when it comes to repairing amps. When you blew that fet (or fets) the other ones in parallel took a beating, so you'd have to replace them all. Depending on what type of fets it uses and how many, it can get costly...The parts alone to fix mine were around $70 but I didn't have to pay any labor because I'm working on it myself.

I had same thng happen to a Crunch amp way back when and it fried the whole left side. What your pry going to run into is about the same thing. Personally, I would sit back, look at at, get some quotes from various re builders or repair places, see if your warranty is up(you pry voided a warranty when you opened the case sad to say) and then look at the cost of a new amp and see what is going to be the better call down the road..... This is what I'd do...
