Amp for xcon ???

1500 not good enough try something around 1800-2k... I vote mmats
Hmm mmats at 1 ohms I herd they were great amps but I also herd there very power hungry and I'm on stock electric didn't have a problem running a zx 1000 or a Asa 1500.1 tho

Lol power hungry no ****** way... Some of the most efficient amps around....i run my mmats 2000.05 on stock alt and single xs batt with minimal voltage drop

the M2000.1D is rated 2k on a 80a or 100a fuse(confused as to which, TBH)...either overrated or they make their own power...even allowing for 25% over on the fuse, you are looking at 1725 watts max for any extended periods...is this not the comparison by which others are compared?..usually in this case the amp is declared overrated junk status.

...Not trying to diss the product, just trying to explain the reasoning for future prospective customers who look at such things like we do....based on the fusing, I would say a 1200 watt at best.

just sayin.

I see the xcon as your avatar I think did you run it off the sundown of so how's you like the setup??
yeah it was with a saz1500 and I loved it, got low to

The Xcon does not need bonkers power, I have ran it with less then 300 with smiles a-plenty. But there are loads of people who like to throw big power at them. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

they use higher voltage rails than many of the other compet in their amps, and they are really efficient. also just because you have a 100 amp fuse does not mean the amp is ******* up ovr 100 amps, just means its not doing it on a constant flow. Because again its so efficient. mmats are one of the best amp companies out there and one of the few that still entirely make their amps in the US in Florida. They are well respected and do rated.

still not telling me anything..as far as efficiency, Mmats states explicitly their mono class d amps are 76% efficient at full rated output....I hardly call that "most efficient", and degrades my assumption even further on the M2000.1 producing 2000 watts rms at the rated 13.8v.

2000w/.76= 2632 watts required to produce the 2000 watts.

2632w/13.8v= 190.7 amps required to produce the 2000 watts.

Ohms law is unwavering. The only variable at play is how much above rated the fuse can sustain. On a 100a fuse, you can realistically allow for +25% tolerance, which would still leave 65.7 amps unaccounted for in order for the Mmats M2000.1D to produce rated output continuously. I can very well see this as being a 1000w RMS amp, 2000watts max..but you didn't want to hear that either, I bet.

video of amp doing 3k at 2 ohm with only 2 4 guage inputs seen this do 5k at 1 ohm dual 100 amps, not going to be a 5k amp according to you. Also how do the old Orion amps only come with 30 amp fuses and put out 800 plus rms. I personally would get a mmats amp over sundown, audioque, crescendo etc. But they are just too expensive for my taste.

and 76 percent at full power is extremely efficient no cheap 4 ohm efficiency rating.

150v rails vs smaller 60v or 80v
