Amp For Type R

I have one 12 inch Alpine Type R sub (4 ohm SVC) in a sealed enclosure. This is the old model, rated at 300 watts RMS. I have had this laying around, finally decided to let a friend use it, bu he will need an amp. Any suggestions? He would like to stay around $100 bucks. He is new and anything will be better than nothing, so what do you recommend? Thanks.
