Don't call it a comeback
I know a lot of you have em what kind of wattage are you giving them? Will 85 a channel be enough or should I go with more?

i too am going to order the slc265's from 6spdcoupe, just waiting to getin touch with him. im not sure what amp i will run, but i am going to get the orion 2500d for my subs and might just stick with an orion for my comps too, not sure yet. as far as sound deadening goes, i just ordered 80sq ft to start with from anthony at secondskinaudio.com. he seems to be a great guy from talking to him thru net and on phone and from what i have read consistently has good reviews. also you get 20% off for being a forum member. i cant remember the link, but a guy did a study of all different kinds of deadening(maybe someone can post the link?) in his study he came to the conclusion that second skin was the best for quality. fairly inexpensive. raamatt also gets good reviews on these forums and is a little bit cheaper, but i decided to go with what i felt was the better product. i havent had personal experience with it yet as i just ordered it, but i cant wait to get it in (hopefully by week's end). and i will post back and let u know what i think. regardless of what you do i think you should give anthony a shout and talk to him about your project.

I have some SLC265's that I just recently got in my car. You really don't need 100w rms for em. I'm powering mine with a MD41 (rated 60w@14.4v) and my car isn't putting out 14.4 atm, more like 13.5 until I get my HO alt put back in. I have the gains set pretty low on it and I believe the speakers actually say 60w rms on them. They sound very nice and I guess I could give em more power but my doors tend to get a' rattling lol. I left my back stockers in for comparison (swapping out for some KX165's soon) And when I set the fade to the back good god it is night and day. The SLC265's are much crisper in the highs, clearer, ya know? And the midbass response is 10x better. I'm pretty happy with em for the price, once I get my doors deadened I'm sure I'll be more than happy.

But back on topic! Mine are powered just fine by an MD41, 60w rms (though it puts out more like 85@14.4)... Like I said, gains are set low right now and I don't think I would want to turn em up much.

SO your saying the if I got the zx350.2 and had around 110rms per channel it would be too mcuh power?

the slc's will handle the power fine, he's basically they are efficient speakers and don't necessarily need that much to sound good.
