Not necessarily, but it is what you have so that's the resistance value you need to keep in mind when trying to match your speakers with outboard amplification.
but dont i need 220? 110x2?
You actually have several options.
a) Run the 5" speakers off of the head unit and amplify the 6x9s. (I assume they are in the rear?) This will make your rear fill drivers overpower your front stage and essentially eliminate any possibility of proper imaging. I'd wager most on this foum would recommend you don't do that.
b) Get a four-channel amp and amplify all your speakers. Provided your settings on both the head unit and the amp are adjusted properly this can provide with much louder, authoritative music. This is the route I would go, were it me. (I like a more present rear ambience than most, I suppose)
c) Amplify the front stage and run the rears off of the head unit. This will bring life to your front stage while keeping the much larger back speakers from overpowering it.
Those 6x9s are rated for 110w RMS. This doesn't mean you must put 110 watts into them for them to work well. 50~70 clean watts into most 6"x9" coaxials will make 'em sing pretty good.
need to know would too much power blow my speakers?
The simple answer is "Yes, it can."
do i have to get a 2 channel? does it help?
You do not have to -and- It can, respectively.
should i be looking at 2ohms? or 4? etc.

do the more expensive amps really make much sound quality difference?
They can. yes. But the difference in pricing isn't always completely about sound. Product build quality and the resultant lifespan due to quality or shoddy workmanship can make huge dollar differences. A given unit's capabilities also play a very large role in cost. There are units that are rated for a couple hundred watts that will do a couple hundred watts. There are also units rated for a couple hundred watts that make over a thousand. Reckon these are priced the same? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif
Like I said - I figure a 4ch amp would be the best option for you. Like posted by Mackenzie something in the range of 45~70 wpc RMS would make a pretty good match for your Infinities.
Hope this helps at all and good luck with it //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif
