Amp for JL 10w1v2?

I'm building a basic entry level system for my Chevy Colorado, and an amp is the last piece. I order the JVC KW810 head unit, JL 10W1V2, and a downfiring consol style sealed box. The box only has .62 of airspace, so I needed a sub that could sound decent with the small space. I am going to add polk db651's in the near future, but will just let them run on 20 RMS from the head unit. JL's website says 200-250 RMS will put the sub in great position for a good sounding and long living sub. Any recomendations on the amp? Also would you add anything? Thanks for the help guys, I am kinda new to the sub department.

For the amp... around 250 tops I think. I would love to get a 4 channel and bridge for the sub and run two to my front speakers, but had trouble finding an amp that wouldn't exceed the db651's handling while still giving enough 4 ohm bridged power for the W1.

Turn down the gain on the front channels. Problem solved. Your HU won't produce 20W without a ton of distortion so getting a 4 channel is definitely the way to go.

RUB4.500 - Soundstream 4 Ch. 500 Watt RMS Rubicon Series A/B Class Amplifier

TRX4.420 - Soundstream 4 Ch 420 Watt Amplifier

Something like either one of those will get the job done. Keep the gain under control on the front channels and you'll be good to go.

I didn't even think about using the gain.... haha. That soundstream looks like it would work well. Can't really find any reviews on it, but can get it new for 135, which is a great price...

If I used that RUB4.500, could I bridge the rear two outputs to run the W1 at 250 RMS and leave the front two open for now? As of now I only need a mono channel, but would be nice to get the four channel so I will be set up when I get the db651's.

If your budget allowed $250 for the amp and you're only spending less than $150, get the speakers that you want as well and do the entire thing at one time. It's much easier to only tear the vehicle apart once.

Assuming that the box is built ahead of time, the rest of the install can be done in an afternoon.

Yea, I'm just waiting on everything to arrive. Next week is LSU's fall break so I will get it done then. Just ordered the RUB4.500 today. Need to figure it where I want to mount it and how I sound run my wiring.
