amp for crystal sscs

I am looking at buying a new amp for my crystal comps as I have a piece of shit amp on them right now. I searched on here and everyone is saying to give them at least 150 each to get them sounding good. Well I was looking at getting a Sundown SAX-100.2 because I want to get the SAZ-1500d and have matching amps. The sundown is only rated at 100x2 @ 4 which im sure is a little underrated. Should I be looking for more power or will this make them sound good?

The SAX-100.2 is plenty of power for any component set that I know of. Look around for folks that have them and they will tell you. It is a bit underrated and will do a good 125 x 2 or so.

sounds good, i just see these posts of people saying that crystals want 150-250 for the midbass to wake up. Maybe they're just nuts?

What's the birthsheet of your X1200.1 say? I've never seen one below about 1300W RMS and most are in the 1400+ range. What kind of substage are you running that you want more power for?

The Sundown amp would be a great choice, but of all the posts I've read about the SSCS6's, you'll want to amp them with at least 150Wrmspc to really make them shine.

I am also interested in a SAX 100.2, but I wanted to put around 150w RMS to my PG RSD 6.5 comps, since I have them on 120w now. I'm not sure if I really am putting a quality 120 watts of clean power to them or if I am bullshitting them with crappy power.

People said my mid- 90's crossfire amp was a good unit , but I don't have anything to compare it to so I'm not sure what I should do.

If you can convince me I'll have enough power, I'll drop all other choices and purchase the SAX when the time comes.

Wow that's the lowest I've ever heard of for the X1200.1 (even most of the X600.1's put out around 700-800 or a little more). If you need more power for your substage, then Sundown might be the better choice for matching amps.

I'm also prolly gonna get a FI BL, to be powered by the Sundown, I had a Titanium Elite sub on the xenon but it needs a new cone because when i got in a wreck it ripped itself apart.

That is a great option as well, several people have done so -- including Nick, the owner of Stereo Integrity.
