amp for alpine type r 12's

First off are they dual 4 or dual 2 and do you have a budget?

jeeze lots of people getting R's right now.

Get something that will power them between 500-800wrms @ 2ohms per sub

So a 1000-1600wrms amp.

Any of the following brands will do.

Sundown

Memphis

Alpine

Kenwood

and others i'm sure some people will chime in and let you know.

also if you're getting 2 subs, make sure you get the Dual 2ohm models that way you can wire them into a 2ohm load.

not really on a budget looking to spend around 300 on the amp. Most of the type R i've seen are 4ohm dvc.

theres this kenwood amp i see thats 1200w rms x1 channel at 2 ohms. in price range. So if I split it among the two subs it should be about 600wrms per sub yea?

Get the aq over that. also a sundown is in that range

Yeah if you've got that much to spend i'd stay from the kenwood there is better out there

the AQ1200 would power those type Rs nicely.....however im running my 2 off a MTX Thunder 1501d.

1 ohm? ugh... no need to do that.. Get the dual 2 ohm so you can wire it at a 2 ohm load.

Phoenix Gold Tantrum 1200.1 is my recommendation
