If you don't run a subsonic filter, you can really only run about 600 befroe you need to worry about reaching their excursion limit. The 150WRMS recommended is because of the excursino below tuning that these sub exhibit and the high tuning that they want. 34-35 hz is actually well below optimum for what those subs want and because they movea lot of air, you will need a big and thus really long port to keep port noise down. If you really want to tune them that low, you would probably be better off with a bigger box.

I have mine tuned to 35 and run ~3-400 watts per driver. I also run a SSF too tho. FWIW, I run a Brutus1600 on mine.

I have the perfect amp but is more than your budget...It is a Kicker XS50....on the birth sheet it was 667 It has the custom SWX module which was $50 more and it is set up for subsonic filter...I've never used the amp I bought it brand new when USACi had a 0-150 class...before i built the car they changed to 0-300 class so I got another xs100...It was mounted in my CRX because i had built a custom amp rack with the sink link...but never bought the speakers.....I paid $500 for it from a friend that was a Kicker deaer the retail was $899....I'm selling it for $350 shipped....If trully interested I can post pic...it has the badge and end caps as well..It is a class AB amp so it is extremelly clean sound wise ...one of the last American built Kickers.....

I ran mine off 400 watts once, trust me, these things want more than 100 watts a peice. Mine were laughing at me.

Turn off the SSF and hand them something in the sub 30 Hz range and get back to me. With a SSF you should be able to run a ton of powre to them without them showing any signs of distress but take away the SSF and things change greatly. They don't like the really low freqs. Tune them up in the 38-42 hz range where they really want to be and it gets worse.

Once I get something that will act as a SSF I plan on really giving it to mine. 2100HCCA bridged on a pair anyone?
