In any event, I'm thinking the Orion 2500D running at .5 Ohms would probably be the best bet?

The Visonik 4000 would be good too but I seem to have missed the boat. I'm not trying to pay more than 500 bucks, shipped.

It can be run at 2 Ohms too as long as it outputs enough power for 2 XXX's, which I'd say is at least 1250 a sub.

Any other suggestions?

yeah, and its $332.95 shipped from ikesound on ebay, with a six month warranty from DEI. Ive seen threads on here saying both the orion and viper use the same board, so output should be the same.

There are a few Visonik's for sale here. Also bhtnfan has a nice amp for sale. The Orion would be real nice too

Now I've heard differently, that the Orion uses different internals, and don't fail/break as frequently.. not sure of the validity of that. I definitely can't justify 150 bucks for identical amps with a different name.

I also heard that the Orions were 1 ohm stable; I do not believe the Vipers are, which would suggest they don't use the same parts.

the crossfire vr2000D is a nice amp. rated at 2000 watts rms @ 2 ohm but that rating is at 12.5 volts and they are very effecient and underrated so you should be able to get 2300-2400 watts rms out of it.

Was considering that one as well but the Orion / Viper.. both output more than it does. Also, I don't see a Crossfire used anywheres and I'm not trying to pay 900 bucks. ;P

Good points. Im just stating what I saw on this forum, about the same board. I guess some of the internals would have to be different, maybe power supplies, but Im thinking they do the same wattage. Search for one of the amps, both of them are mentioned in a few threads. Ideally, you could come across someone who has used both of them to give you a comparison, but might have to settle for a comparison thread, and sort it all out.

If you got the electrical system for that, then by all means go ahead. Expect somewhere near 3Kw.
