Amp defect or bad install? Please help

K i got my system installed a week ago and my subwoofers keep cutting in and out while im driving. Usually ill have to turn off my car and wait a bit and when i start up the subs work again. When the subs dont work my amp power light is still on meaning that the amp is on. Does this sound like an amp defect or a bad install???

I got a 500/1 amp running 2 v3's.

I got my amp on ebay so i dont want to go through all that trouble to get it repaired if its not the amp that is causing the problem.

Well if your amp is on but is not in protection mode it sounds such as it being your rca's. Not quite shure what elese it could be!

What ohm load and what is the gain/input sensitivity at?

I dont think it would be the ohm load because it would go into protection , but you may be right cuz im not shure if it is goin into protection or not.

No its not going into protection at all.

Its parallel for a total of 2Ohm load.

The gains are not turned up at all.
