Amp Decision

Hey Guys,

I've been doing some research but have not been able to pin down an amp for my install. It is very modest (especially to the enthusiast crowed) but for now I think I will be happy with it.

First off I drive an 01 Jeep wrangler that came with the sub in between the front seats and contained in the center console. I want to keep it here for space reasons, so i picked up a JL 6 w3v3. A nice little sub for the application, here are the specs.

JL Audio 6W3v3 Subwoofers - Car Audio Subwoofers

Next I need to replace the 51/4" inch speakers in the sound bar and the 4" speakers in the front dash. For the moment I am going to keep the stock head unit (a sin I know, but for now this is how it will be). What amp would you guys recommend to run the sub and four new speakers (because obviously the stock head unit will not be able to).

Speakers I was looking at for replacements:

Dash: Boston Acoustics S45 4" 2-way car speakers at Crutchfield.com

Sound Bar: Kicker 07DS5250 5-1/4" 2-way car speakers at Crutchfield.com

Please make suggestions on parts minus the sub as it is already installed.

Thanks!!

Phil

instead of creating a new thread i am going to update this one from awhile ago.

So i purchased a new deck that was on clearance..

Alpine CDE-100:

This guy: Alpine CDE-100 CD receiver at Crutchfield.com

I didn't buy from crutchfield i got it locally for 70$ brand new. Not a great deal but it works for me plus I have had great experiences with alpine.

With that said, I am looking to replace the factory speakers just with something that will support the power coming from the deck.

Will the polks still fit the bill, or maybe the 4" components? Or will they all be overkill? (not that overkill is a bad thing)

My main question is: I"m looking for a slim fit AMP that will power the sub by itself. I am hoping to have it fit inside the center console with the sub (I can get pictures later) but it's not a must have.

I don't need the most feature rich amp just something to power the sub maybe with external base level control.

If you need more info please ask.

Thanks!

Phil
