Amp damaging components??

Hi, an installer told me today not to use my brand new clarion HX 6.5" components, unless i buy a very good quality amp to power them. He said an ordinary amp could damage them and their passive crossover if the amp did some kind of a (spark, wrong voltage in the output....bla bla bla:S). Is this correct??? i was gonna buy a profile AP1040 brand new in order to power them, i heard nice stuff about profile, i cant pay for more:S Wha he correct or just saying bullshit so i can buy a new amp from his store.....thx

He's wrong - mostly.

Using a very bad quality amp that doesn't do its rated power makes it more likely for an uninformed user to send it into clipping, which would damage the components.

But a Profile will work fine - just make sure to set the gains correctly.

Eh, I guess its possible, but highly unlikely. If the amp is installed correctly and set right, you'd be fine.

He wants to sell me a Clarion amp, are they good? well when u say bad amp, u mean high distortion%? if i will use profile, i will surely set the gains using a DMM+test tone. So should i go for the profile?i guess profile is not underrated:S:S thx

Clarion isn't bad, but I wouldn't say it would make a huge difference over a properly set-up Profile.

Hi u F..K respect urself. I do not live in USA. I have a credit card and i gave u the number because all american and Ebay site do not accept international credit card . I live in Lebanon, near israel ( midle east) i cannot also have an account on PayPal because my country name is not on the list.... So i gave u my credit card number, that way i though u could take the money using it. The card is in my name Bit..chy, but most of ur sites do not accept credit cards exept ones issued from USA banks, HEH i gave u my card #, and i k now that even if u extracted the money and didnt send me the amp i cannot sue u dude, it was only a trust thing....so *****y think and understand the situation before starting to talk.

Then please explain to me how it is that I sent a JL 8" Driver to GERMANY two weeks ago? Sold through Ebay, paid for through Paypal.

If YOU CANNOT USE THE APPROPRIATE CHANNELS, DO NOT BID. All of the instructions were listed IN PLAIN ENGLISH in the auction.

yep true baby, really i didnt know that a credit card issued from a bank in Lebanon cannot have access to ebay, paypal. Why would i want to bid if i am not buying, what would i gain eh???in the email ive sent u, i told me i am sorry i cannot open an account thrue paypal...thats y i ent u the card number etc...and u told me sorry u cannot do it that way, u only accept payments thrue paypal.....so i dont see the problem. Try to look urself and see if international crtedit cards will work and ones from lebanon specially, i didnt know this cz my card was a mastercard and i know they are supposed to be internationaly accepted.

Now after alllllll this explanation, again i am sorry, and if ur still not happy and convenced, that ur problem and personally i dont give a shit. AH u said a guy bought from u stuff from germany, well baby germany is in the EU, Lebanon is not. Big countries, or those that have joined the EU...well dude y am i tryng to comvince u, go and try urself to see if its possible to have paypal account or buy from Ebay via a card from my country....
