i have a autotek 800xi pushing 2 infinity 1230 subs and it works perfectly when i first turn it on but randomly the amp will just cut off then randomly turn back on, the power light and the protect light both arent on. its not when i turn it up too loud or anything its just random.

any ideas for me to check out would be great because i am really confused.

also i just got a alpine cda-9847 and i dont know what i should tune the bass frequency to, any help on that would be great also.

i talked to a guy at my work and he said i might need a capacitor? does this sound right? ive heard that they really dont do anything so i dont wanna buy one if i dont need it. i already replaced the inline fuse holder and upgraded the fuse to an 80 amp fuse? i really have no idea whats goin on

fok a cap. So it works sometimes? Where is it mounted?

on the back of the box and its grounded on the seat bolt for the backseat

yeah just randomly not if i turn it up to much or change radio stations or anything just like in the middle of a song itll cut off and back on

my friend had the same problem and he took it to a shop and they went over the wires and found that the ground wasnt connected so well. they redid the ground connection wire and it worked fine after that.

I have a different problem i think tho my amp cuts out when i turn up the vol. maybe im not getting enough power?

Anyway good luck!

ok i checked and there was paint under my ground so i scratched it off so it was bare metal and hooked it back up but its still doing the same problem, i checked the fuse holder again and it kinda seems that the power wire isnt touching the fuse sometimes? is there a way to keep the wire in constant contact with the fuse?

yeah ive replaced it a few times, its not like the bass doesnt come on at all it just cuts in and out, what i was sayin was that when i look through the fuse holder the power wires dont look like their touching the fuse, like one is and one slides a little bit and when it slides it comes out of contact with the fuse is there a way to keep the power cable from sliding out of contact with the fuse
