Amp Cut-Off

I have a 15 inch Kicker Comp speaker with a 600 watt Kenwood amp, also a Pioneer 6900. My amp keeps lossing power when my base hits deep and then comes right back on. I've tried a different amp and even tried a higher fuse to see if that would make it work but no luck. Could it be a problem with the speaker making the amp cut off with deep bass. Please some one give me some help ASAP.

that amp is rated to run at 4 ohms mono. i bet you have a dual 4 ohm voice coil speaker and u are running it in parallel and the amp sees a 2 ohm load. that is usually what causes your problem. if that is the case you need to get a differnt woofer or get a 2 ohm stable amp. soundfxny.com
