amp cooling question

Okay, so i have my amp powering a type R that is wired down to 1 ohm. And this amp is getting hot pretty quickly. A buddy of mine said that when the amp is circulating air, the cool air comes from the under side of the amp. So he recommended me putting my amp on "stilts" to help keep it cool. Would that help?

yes it most likely will help a little bit. What amp do you have powering this sub at 1 ohm load a 2 channel or class d ?

it's a hifonics bxi 608

You must be running that class d amp very close to it's limit for it to get hot. How do you have the gain and bass boost set ?
