amp choices ...sub amps

for 4 12 kicker cvr dual 4 ohm subs.

im only running 2 now on a crunch gpa3000.1.... 750 rms at 1 ohm according to tech at crunch...

so i could buy another one of those?.. Id rather have just one good amp though to push abot 1200 to 1600 rms to my subs,...

 
what vehicle do you drive? the factory alt will make a difference..

i have a 07 crv with a 4 cyl @ 140amp alt.. I only have 4ga running to amp, no big 3(yet),

i run an AB 4480.1 to 2 Sundown SA-12s and they sound "good"

i say good, as i only have an agm under the hood, no second battery, and lastly, only 4 ga running to the rear. that being said, clamped amp at 1100w

with 4ohm DVC subs, i think your options are .5 or 2 ohm

ive heard rumors that the AB is .5 stable. BUT you better have the electrical to back that up..

Here's a tip, stick with a brand that doesn't try to deceive buyers by rating at 4-5X what it'll actually do and you'll have a reliable product that performs well and will hold some resale value when/if you ever decide to sell or upgrade.

 
120A of fuse protection and they're only saying 750 @ 1? How'd you get them to come clean?

Regarding your amp choice -- I don't like the idea of using two amps to do what one can easily do.

Any of those would be an improvement on Crunch.

 
I was surprised as anyone about the email myself. I jus t sent an email to tech support. I told them whoa to had and what I was running... Where I bought the amp, that I liked it.He sent back an email. Said the amp was only 750 rms at 1 ohm and would not be good for 4 subs. Very short... To the point...

I will be doing the big 3

Getting a 250 amp alt.

And 1 battery in the trunk.

This is correct as I have my 4 subs d4 as well.

Limited on a 2 ohm final load amp because most can do 1 ohm final load.
