Amp causing subs to make a popping noise

I just bought a power Acoustik GT1-4500D (2700watt RMS 4500watt MAX) amplifier and connected all the wires I had from my old amp(which burnt out). For some reason, without even playing music(completely muted) it just makes a *pop* *POP* *pop*. I have to press the breaker button on my battery(in place of an inline fuse) to get the popping to stop. Subs and new, amp is new, don't know why it's making this noise. I don't want to blow anything. Can anyone tell me what's going on?

I remember when I had an APSM1300 at high volume my subs would do a pop*pop*pop*pop* sound too untill I swapped amps and it never happend again but this was only at high volume yours is on mute

could be a ground issue in the amp

see if you can test it in a friend's setup, it still makes the same noise then i'd suggest return it for RMA.

My grounds couldn't be anymore perfect. I tried every RCA combination.

I think mylows10 means the grounds INSIDE the amp and just like jeff mentioned above I would test it out on a buddys car

hate to be the guy that breaks it to you but, its most likely a bad amp, try not to get burned anymore by power accoustik, this is the 2nd power accoustik amp thats failed on you.

Yes wayyy anything is possible and that might be your problem

If I took the amp apart and posted a picture of the internals could you guys see the internal ground connections and tell me if that's the problem? I can't imagine it being the grounds. Non of the lights flash, flicker, or turn on or off

take the subs out, and hook one upto the amp only, power on, and see if it still pops

You never know. There are lots of amps that make it in to the market that don't pass quality control. One example is B-stock amps from overseas manufactures.

I would not take the amp apart. if its new and bad just send it back for repair. Taking it apart yourself could void manufacturer warranty. what kind of deck are you running.
