amp can't power the RE re8"

I tried the online junkyard that 95BlackGA recommended. They tried to sell that little amp for $150+shipping. What a joke. I'll do the $15-20 for the converter.

Go with aftermarket. This is VERY weak amp - only 2 power supply and 2 output FET's //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wow.gif.23d729408e9177caa2a0ed6a2ba6588e.gif

You may find an amp with high-level inputs, so you can run it without any adapters.

Reason I'm looking for oem amp is because I want the SUV to remain stock looking. I'm constantly using the SUV as a truck by removing the back seats. However I will look for an aftermarket footprint amp.

I found an expedition amp on craigslist for $20 but the problem is that it's a different year. The wire colors matched up but the pins didn't so I just spliced the wires myself. Problem is that once I hooked the amp and sub up and rehooked up the battery...the radio doesn't turn on anymore!!! I was pretty pissed off because now I have nothing. Anyone help me on this please!?!?

I think I just threw away a couple of those Mach amps because I didn't think I'd ever have a use for them //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif The LOC won't work if the amp is gone....it uses the powered signal to work....plus all a loc would do is give you rca outputs to power a aftermarket amp for your subs that is something you don't want to do...If you want you can PM me I may have some ideas...

The RE8 needs to be wired at 8 ohm not 2 ohm......

It's a single coil subwoofer... how would I wire a single coil to 8ohm?

uhm just my 2 cents, but RE8's are DVC 4ohm, so I don't see how you can have one thats SVC

The newer RE8's are dual voice coil. I have one that was made/designed back when Scott(of FI audio) was in charge of RE. I can take a pic of it to prove it to you when I get a chance.
