amp blew PICS

[C1500martin 10+ year member]

So lastnight i was driving, bumping, steady 14.4v when i hit a red light and suddenly voltage DROPS like crazy and no more bump. smells like burnt plastic/ nasty paint.

i open the amp up today and see theres two burn spots on the board. anybody care to chime in how bad is it or recommend were to send it? those are the only places it got burnt on.

send a request into db-r on their site, he got back to me quick on a quote and gave me a realistic opinion as well as an indepth answer into what exactly happened.

main pics he wanted were of the full board, then of the problem areas. the fets dont look happy, and the gate resistors seem to look blown as well. generally an entire rail will need to be replaced with new components, but im not an expert by any means. may end up needing both rails replaced. usually when the gate resistors are blown theres caps needing replaced too.

Im Assuming for some readon my truck bogged out and the alt died and didnt prodcue the power the amp needed and that caused it blow

That's why I never let my car idol or even let it go under 1k rpm when stereo is full tilt. Bad for alternators too.

ive seen so many lanzar opti driver 4kws do great at shows. not hte most efficentt but definitely dont smoke like those.

if i was you id get a new board. the outputs are all probably going to go bad. you can tell they get brittle from over heating..
