Hi, I'm new to this forum, and I don't have much knowledge about audio or how to set it up to get the best sound or quality, but I'm willing to learn!

What is the difference between Amplified head units, and Pre-Amplified head unit. My brother-in-law told me, "it's better to get a pre-amp head unit" I asked him why, he replies, "it's better because when you run the pre-amp head unit with an amplifier, it sounds so much better and you can tell the difference easily like day and night" He told me why but I didn't really understand specifically why and how to distinguish the technical part of that reply. Can you guys tell me what's up about the head units?

Most headunits come with 2v rca preouts for amplifiers, and an amplified signal coming out of the wiring harness. a headunit that has preamps for rca's is nice because you can run the rca's to an external amp and run it however you want, plus there will be more power. most headunits only put out like 13w x 4

I have an eclipse 3100 with cage, trim ring, harness, manual, and original packaging I will sell you for 100 plus shipping. PM me if your interested.
