Amatuer question about Rockford amp with Type R's

I'm not too talented when it comes to knowing what amps can do what. But I have this amp which is a few years old. Rockford punch 360a2

2 channel / mono amplifier

- 140w MAX / 90w RMS X 2 (4ohms)

- 210w MAX / 180w RMS X 2 (2ohms)

- 450w MAX / 360w RMS X 1 (mono 4ohms)

IM Distortion (IHF):

Frequency Response: 20hz-20khz

Signal to Noise Ratio: >100db A--weighted

CrossOver Slope: 12db/octave Butterworth

CrossOver Freq: 50-210 Hz

HP/FULL/LP

2.6"x9.6"x8.7"

Protection: NOMAD Internal Analog-computer output protection circuitry limits power in case of overload. Thermal switch shuts down amplifier in case of overheating.

There are the specs. Anyway, I need to power two Type Rs, I dont really need to get the MAX out of them, just enough so they can get by. So my newbie question is, can I use this amp for ANYTHING at all conerning these subs? Even something like using this and another amp? And an even dumber question, can you use this amp in conjuction with another in a ratio of using this amp at 25% and having the other more powerful amp at 75% of the workload?

PS- I know this amp isnt enough to power one, but still, just curious since I own it from a previous system.

Thank you

to power two type r's you won't get shit out of it. and i would use it to power just one. you well get more from it if you use it to power one. it well sound better. just use that amp till you get a good mono amp. also i would hold on to that amp. if you ever got good front speakers you could use that to run them and it would bump. as far as useing that at 25 and another at 75...... don't think it is possible. also running that amp at 25 percent is nothing

So in theory, if I were to have 2 of these amps, I could "run" two R's? And for the 25/75 .. I mean one strong amp running one sub+half of the other, while this amp would run half a sub type thing. I dont think thats possible tho //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

So, thats a no on running one type R with that amp? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Oh by the way, I dont know if it makes any difference, I have the older style Type Rs. (the one with the smooth rubber part, but the new one with the rigid rubber, if that makes sense)

I own one of these amps, and I could get one off my friend who hasnt used his in 3 years for $50, and he barely used it. So if I could get away with 2 older type R subs running from 2 of these amps, ill be happy. I wont need it to be totally pounding til maybe next year, just something to get me by !

probably does make a difference. i think the older type r's were only 300 watts rms. someone correct me if i'm wrong.

Oooo, nice! less power in my subs! Thats what I like to hear, maybe I can get away with running both of them with 2 of these amps afterall! I just dont want to have to spend 500+ on a new amp. Im a student, im poor, books are killing my wallet

you can get 1000 watts for 250ish.
