About 3 weeks ago I was in an accident where a woman ran a red light and totaled my car.. I STILL have yet to know what is going on, nor has anyone even came to look at/appraise my car.. SO Im like enough of this crap, Im getting a rental, Ive been more than patient ..

SO After convincing them that yes, I do need a car to drive to work they said they will pay for the rental but not the insurance ( which is $15 / day ) and is ridiculous considering that averages out to about $450/month... on a COBALT.. 450/ month they better be loaning me a camaro ..

Anywho they are refusing to pay the $15 / day insurance which is now coming out of my pocket and I think its a bunch of BS.. Anyone have any ideas what to do? Not only are they cheaping out on the insurance, its been 3 weeks and noone has even looked at my car, which I kind of need to happen so I can get my check to get a new car.. So its been nothing but a huge pain the the *** for me and I really dont know what to do

You need to look over your policy and look at the procedure for claims. Then with that information call your insurance agency and politely ask them for a set time when an adjuster will be out to examine your claim, so you know when to schedule off work etc so you can be there. Inform them that the only time you have available is the next 3 days. If they tell you that is not possible, tell them that it has already been 3 weeks (use whatever information you gained in your policy here) and that if nobody is out in the next 3 days you're going to have to contact your attorney and go that route. It's standard stuff.

Ive done all that though.. I was nice the first 2 weeks with her company then I just got pissed off.. THe accident happened on a Saturday @ 5:30 pm and I had every last bit of paperwork and phone call made 3 days later ( that following Tuesday ) .. I have said everything I can say and I did tell her company ( or at least the agent handling the case that I shouldn't be responsible for paying a dime out of my pocket because she was 100% at fault and admitted it.. I paid $600 a year to insure both my cars now Im getting tagged $450/month to pay insurance on a cobalt as a rental?? I'm just not seeing it I guess..

My insurance agent also agreed that they should be paying the full cost of the rental and Insurance, so when I called them last Friday I told them if things are not worked out by this Wednesday , they will no longer be talking to me , but my attorney instead...

Yep that's your only option. Hang in there man.

Also check your insurance policy. Many times you insurance will cover whatever vehicle you are behind the wheel of such as a rental. You insurance will cover it then go after hers to get their money back.

Same exact thing happened to me bro...It might seem like a lot, but just pay the daily $15 to be safe. You don't want to get into to another accident and pay even more money!

USAA (military insurance) handles all that for me. Even if I'm not at fault they deal with the other insurance company and get stuff done so that I don't have to deal with the BS. Before I got USAA, State Farm insurance did the same thing for me. Tell your insurance company to get onto that insurance companies azz & get this stuff taken care of for you. That's what you pay them for.
