OK, so as many of you know I was deployed to Afghanistan until late Aug. I bought my whole setup in June/July and was finally able to do the build in Nov. I had my wife meter the subs with my DMM when they arrived and one was bad, one was good. I bought 2 seperate SA8's from different sellers. The one that was bad the seller paid for the recone.

After finally being able to complete my build the other "good" SA8 makes a popping noise at low frequencies. The one I reconed doesn't. Am I wrong from mentioning this to the seller now? I did mention it right after I finished the build and noticed it.

thats rough to say... try to narrow down the exact problem... if its a rip or something like that you may be too late. but what if the coil is trashed and begun unwinding? or along those lines. i would talk to the seller then.

depending on what it is, and how good the seller is, maybe you two can work things out.

what it sounds like based on what you said about them, sounds like a triple joint failure.

i would say your fu(ked its been like 6 months and you havent said anything... If your wife metered them and seen it was bad why didnt you have her get in touch with the seller and send it back

No rip, plays loud and no issues at frequencies above say 45htz. But below that, on low frequencies on songs like ludacris and gucci shake and fries I get the popping.

You didn't read, when my wife metered them one was good one was bad. The bad one was taken care of then. This is issues with the good one on low frequencies.

well he was in afghanistan man, obviously he couldnt do anything about it. plus a DDM only reads coils...not joints, surround, glue, none of that obviously...

id say the seller probably sold in because of these problems.

sounds like a weakend suspension. besides recone, they only way to counter that effect would be to adjust the sub sonic filter, and tighten the port flow.

Personally, I would pull them 8's and put a 10 or 12 in that mofo. and I know just the right one for jo.
