I work at a Hot Topic in the local mall and buy alot of shit from the Buckle which sells a ton of Affliction clothing, well, they're on commission there and the guy who deals with most of the Affliction gear has my waist size committed to memory and comes over to my store to tell me when they get new jeans in (like, 175-300 dollar jeans). i walk in that place and just see me paycheck disappear. http://afflictionclothing.com/

It's fun, but any good LP position requires a degree. You really aren't going to go into LP right out of high school. I'm basically the lowest form of LP, and get paid the least, and only got this far from moving my way up, and some brown nosing.

I couldn't work in sells, i'm too honest and i'd feel bad for telling someone "this is the best on the market" when it really isn't. My buddy works for us cellular and makes about 60k a year and he just turned 21. But then again he's one of those people that can make instant friends with anyone, guess it's not for everyone...

I been looking for a new LP job, and even with my experience can't get one since I don't have a bachelors degree.

I hate cartoys, they ****, I go in there and Im obviously the one with more knowledge and, I dont know that much. But I just go in there and ask them where some 2 awg wire is, but mother****er gets me a kit for 1/0 awg, I tell him I dont need all that, but he kept going on about how I should get it, And then I was like look I want to get some simple wire, I got everything else, so dont worry about what I need since you dont know. I guess his manager steped in and took it from there. I went the next day to get a indash kit for my head unit, but he tries to get me a whole kit for who knows how many cars and head units, I knew they had a kit just for one headunit, so I argued with him, and he gets a little attitude and says FINE and goes back and gets the right one, and I tell him thank you, and he says oh anything for you sir, in a really rude tone.

You just have to be upfront and honest with people.

I work in sales, but luckily I'm not commissioned. It would be really crappy right now if I was commission based since I work in a golf store and winter time isn't exactly very busy since its 0 degrees out.

I've found that just being honest with people and saying what they need and don't need usually ends up in a sale anyways. Also, I try to make it a point to state that I'm not paid on commission so the customer doesn't feel like they are getting pressured into buying something.
