Am I missing something??

Also. I put a hifonics amp in before hooked it all up. It was a remote wire problem. I took it to were I got it and they tested it. My amp was fine. My remote wire was busted...

The remote wires are ran from the remote lead off the HU's not the power antenae(sp). Each of these are run separately from the RCA's. I also did try different power sources on the remote terminal on the amp, no avail. I am so tired and pissed off right now. That and it is hot as hell outside. I'm going to take a break for now, then go try some different grounding spots and hopefully that will do the trick, if not out comes the hammer (jk). I will let you guys know the results. Again, thanks to all of your for your input. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fro.gif.c695f1f814b01c4ad99fe7f8cccadd29.gif

If not the remote, fuses, or anything. Check the ground.

I grounded to the bracket for the hatch latch on my friend's Camaro. That worked well. IS your ground bare metal, ring terminal seated correctly?

yes indeed, the amp is rated at like 100 watts rms, not very powerful at all. Could I share the ground w/ the HU??

take the fuse out of the power wire from the car that works. put it in the power wire in the car that does not work.

see if that works..

iv had that happen a lot. a bad fuse. that looks fine..

Ah, yeah, bad fuses.

And what do you mean, share the ground with the HU? The HU is grounded either throug a factory harness, which leads to metal, or to metal directly.

IS your amp near the HU?

Are the aftermarket head units the same? Rarely, some HU will not have enough voltage in the remote wire to turn on some amps.

I didn't quite understand your response, so I'll ask this question again:

Did you try attaching a small wire from the power to the remote on the amp? MAKE SURE YOU DISCONNECT THE REMOTE WIRE ON THE AMP FIRST.

If none of that works take all of the trim and bolts out of the car that you had out while installing. It could be there is a screw grounding the remote and/or power lead or it is being pinched somewhere.

I will try that out.

The amp is about 3 feet from the HU

Did try this already.

& B&W, you seem like a knowledgeable and helpful dude, so you are more than welcome to chip in w/ anything else in my threads man. I got love for the Ohio crew. Thanks again for helping me out. I'm not a noob @ this, but I still have a lot to learn.

It was a grounding issue, I found a different and better grounding spot and it works like a charm. It sounded like *** to me but they were happy with it so I guess thats all that matters. Thanks for all the help. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/toast.gif.bc0657bf54b9ee653b6438524461341e.gif
