My friend is trying to sell me a w6 with a 5 into 1 amp for 300 bucks.. its brand new am i getting ripped off or is it a good deal? i dont know anything about systems..also my brother can get me two 12' "hitron" subwoofers and a "american pro" amp for $180.. which is the better deal?? has anyone ever heard of "hitron subwoofers" and "american pro" amps?? are they any good??

If your friend is trying to sell you a w6 (what size? though no matter which the Dub 6 is a solid sub) and the amp...is it a JL Audio 500/1 amp? Not entirely certain what a 5 into 1 amp is...

If it is a 500/1 and the sub is pretty much any version of the w6 so long as it works then yes, it's worth $300.

Never heard of Hitron subs before...

That American Pro amp is well...it's an American Pro amp, I reckon.

I'd go the JL route, myself.

Need a bit more info like what model numbers. A W6 and an amp to power it for 300 is a decent deal. Depending on the amp's brand/model number...

Go with JL I doubt anybosy has heard of the other stuff and if they have they wont recommend it over the JL. You will be alot happier if you spend the extra 120

hitron sounds like an off brand as well as american pro, same shit as legacy pyle and pyramid, not worth the time or money. a w6v2 and a JL 500/1 is a sick deal for 300, especially new......hop on that.....

When you say 5 into 1, what do you mean? Ask the guy specifically what the model number is. Everyone is just assuming that it is a 500/1. And also ask for the specific model number on the w6, it could be a really old one, it could be a brand new one. Like others have said though, regardless of age on the w6, if the amp is a 500/1 with the w6, it is a good deal assuming the equipment is not damaged.

i wish i cleaned out my 6thAVE. of their W6 12"s... ...during the summer they were clearing them out for 50 bucks each. God i should have jumped on it...
