i was following all specs to build the vented box for my d9 12in

then i decided to reverse the sub just for looks and i was too lazy to cut out a terminal in the box

but obviosly now theres abit more space in the box because the magnet isnt there would it still sound ok ?

I think it will sound terrible. That enclosure is about .92 cubes before sub displacement tuned to about 40hz. That sub will sound like *** in that enclosure. I would put it in the REAL recommended enclosure, which is 1.75 cubes tuned to 35hz (actually I would do 30hz instead).

That enclosure is a generalized enclosure that's no better than some ghetto pre-fab enclosure (and it looks poorly constructed). Sorry if that bothers you, but it's true.

Wrong. It's a broad enclosure that ensures Diamond will have low returns under warranty due to mechanical failure of the sub. So they post that for all the people who don't know what the hell they're doing. For the people who do, those people will find this link below and they will find the decent recommended enclosure and not the general listeners who don't know what they really purchased. Ironically, those people won't even bother with the recommended enclosure and will build something that fits their needs and goals for their system.

oh wow ok ok ok im gonna assume all of u who say this bux is small and the guy that said the box is .3 cuft

im gonna assume none of u actualy did the math so here ill do it for u

the box is 16in x 14in x 18.5in = 4144 cu in

4144 devided 3 times by 12 to give cuft

4144//12/12/12 = 2.4CUBIC FEET

ohhhhh so its 2.4 cubic feet then

am i right ?
