ive decided im going with the kicker L7. Their gonna go in a chevy cavalier trunk and the sub(s) will get an amp to give them thier RMS wattage at 1 ohm, so im not worried about that

but i dont kno what subs to get, been thinkin of three 10's sealed/vented or two 12's sealed/vented or one 15" sealed/vented..

what will make more of that crazy sound pressure in the car and would be the loudest. I can't fit two 15's! The only way i can fit two 15"s is if i make the depth of the box short (sealed) and have the subs facing up. any sugestions on the 3 options??

Haven't heard a 15, but my opinion is two 12's will be plenty. Give them 2.5-3 cubes ported each, and you're set. I run one at about 1100 watts and it literally shakes the dirt and shit off the underside of my truck. I've got it in a ported box in an suv, and i have the bass at -4 on the head unit.

FYI Not stuck mud, loose dirt, i'm not making one of the claims where it breaks my mirrors off:rolleyes:

I have 3 15" l7s with 2 kicker 850.2s pushing them. L7 is a good choice but a 15 won't sound nearly as good unless it has a port. If you can get a port in there it will sound good. Get two 10s or 12s and see if you can port the box. One 15" l7 with a ported box will most likely sound better than 2 15" l7s in a sealed box. Or, you could just go with one 12" l7 ported and you will get more spl and sq than a 15 that's sealed. What kind of music do you usually listen to??

I listen to young jeezy, lil jon, that kinda stuff.. songs with straight BASS ya kno... anyway i can fit two 12"s vented or three 10's vented.. after doing some pricing i found that three 10's and 2 12's equal about the same price soo.. its a decition between them 2 choices

if i get three 10's, im gonna get that triple enclosure with the vents on the bottom

if i get two 12's I want the vented box with the slot vents side of the subs, not the middle like normal.. idk if that will make any difference in loudness..?

It won't make enough of a difference for daily driving. Only a meter could tel the difference.

The 10s will give you more of a range if you listen to different types of music. Otherwise, I would go with the 2 12s. You have to factor in the depth and air space and all that good stuff too.

The 10s will hit any range of bass whether you listen to rock, rap, country, etc...15s are directed more towards rap and become distorted and the sq goes down when listening to rock. The 12s should be perfect for what you listen to. I listen to the same type of music as you but I have 15s. I have more room than you have to work with though. You will be happy with the 12s. Just make sure the enclosure is ported.

Sorry, but that's completely untrue.

okay give your explanation then...So you are telling me an average run-of-the mill setup with 15s is going to respond as quickly as 10s?? We aren't talking competition, we're talking the back of a trunk w/ enough space to barely get two 12s or three 10s.
