Am I doing something wrong wiring this?

Can you solve it?
I have two ED 11Ov2 dual 2-ohm....I had them in a box that was too big...so I got a new box...now I have a ported box 1 cu ft. per chamber and its tuned to 38hz. I have the wiring connected with the + on one of the coils running to the - of the other coil. Then the + of one coil and the negative off one coil going to the box which goes to the amp. Each sub is like this and goes to the nine.1. I have the amp running at about 60% gain and it doesn't hit. Am I wired incorrectly? What am I doing wrong? I just don't have the bass that I thought I would have.

Please help.

That 1 cuft, does that include port displacement? - The port area can not be included as airspace. Slot ports can be very large, just wanted to point that possiblility out.

Your speakers are wired in series - parallel, which is fine actually. By series you get 4 ohm per speaker, paralleled back to 2 ohn mono at the amp. I'd say maybe your out of phase, but its hard to do that with what you have.

Thanks for the replies. I believe I am using option 2 from that diagrahm. Now I guess what I was trying to ask last night, but couldn't type it out is do I/can I just run a wire from the + to the - on one coil then hook up the + and the - from the other coil to the terminals? Currently I run the + from coil 1 to the - on coil 2. Then the + on Coil 2 to the speaker box terminal and the - from coil 1 to the terminal.

My amp has two spots to plug in my wires so what I have done is ran both subs like Option 2 on the link above, and plugged each into a terminal, then ran wires from each terminal to one of the speakers plugs. I have been told that the Nine.1 has a built in "bridge" internally so I should be seeing 2-ohms, correct?

Thank you all again, this is really frustrating me.

Each chamber is 1 cuft, not including the port. I appreciate that idea though, and I did check that out to make sure.

Any way I can check the phase? I did make sure that I was + to + and - to -, now the only thing that may not be the same is which + was ran to the - on the coils.

I know that I am just running 10's, but 2 10's vented with 900 watts should hit. I swear this morning my 6.5's were hitting harder, its very frustrating. Maybe I'm doing something wrong with my crossovers.

To check phase, take a battery (AA, 9V, drill battery etc) Take the wires coming out of the box to the + and - of the battery, doing one speaker at a time. The speaker will move, make sure both are going the same direction when you do this.

The smaller the speaker the smaller the battery - and do not use this test on tweeters

I will check this when I get home tonight. Thanks. Let me ask one more question, if you don't mind. Would running the positive to the negative on one coil and then running the positive and negative to the other coil to the terminal make a difference?

Thanks,

Justin
