Hello, new here... obv. Any help or advice is greatly appreciated... then scrutinized haha.
TL;DR to follow.
I have two 10" Powerbass (I know... they were free) PB-B105D 250w RMS 350w Peak DVC drivers.
Couldn't find any info on these so I measured the impedance using a multimeter, which showed 4Ω at each voice coil.
Using two I can wire these for a total impedance of either 1Ω or 4Ω.
So, here's the question you've heard a million times "What amp do I need to push these"... properly.
If I am correct in my research (I googled for a couple of hours, hit the stickies here, have an average understanding of electronics and power) I am shooting for 75-150% of the total driver RMS rating in an amp. The total of both drivers is 500w RMS, so that would mean I should look to power these using a 375-750w RMS amp right?
I posit, I should be able to use any of the following; (this is where I need help)
-1ch 500w RMS amp @ 4Ω Mono
-2ch 500w RMS amp @ 4Ω (2x250w) Stereo or Bridged?
-4ch 500w RMS amp @ 4Ω (4x125w) Bridged 2x250w??
How would using a 1Ω stable amp work, what kind of RMS output would I need? Channels?
Budget is $150 MAX, less would be better haha. If I spend any more than that on an amp, I should buy better drivers. I just want to run these on the cheap without sacrificing too much performance. If I can pair these I'll probably build a custom enclosure for them (going into a 2000 Jeep XJ).
TL;DR
Have: Two 10" DVC 250w RMS @ 4Ω
Need: Amp
Build: Enclosure?
Thanks!
