Am I a freeloader for accepting my parents' proposal?

I drive a 1998 ***** Am Ws6, which I fully paid for myself. In college, i couldn't really work enough, so my parents were nice enough to take over my insurance and repairs. Lots of things keep breaking on the car, and my parents got sick of paying for it all, so they basically said that if i don't sell it, they are cutting me off with the car. Since i am broke, i don't really have an option. But now my mom is getting a new car, and told me if i sell my car immediately, they will give me her 2003 Acura MDX for whatever i get for my car if i pay them the money. I pretty much accepted, but it makes me feel like a scumbag having a car that my parents basically gave to me. With the ws6, it felt nice having a car i paid for, but now it feels wrong just having my parents give me a car, especially at my age (21)

Sounds like something they want to do for you. I see nothing wrong with it.

The fact that you are concerned about it and do not feel like they "owe" you anything is better than most people would be.

Just don't forget it. Maybe someday you will be able to repay the favor.

its just a pride thing, people will see me, and since im a young guy still in school, assume that my parents bought me a car and judge me from that. BUt with my old car, i had the satisfaction of knowing i paid for it myself and it was a result of my hardwork

Thats what parents are for man. Its not like you went asking for handouts. And its not like they are just giving you a brand new 2006 Mustang like a dousche bag that I know. They are giving you a car that will be dependable so they dont have to worry about your car anymore, in a safety aspect. Think about it from their point of view. Your car was probably starting to become a great deal of worry for them to you.

i love the fact that ive paid my parents back in full for my vehicle..but repay them later on in life
