alternator wiring help

Hi I just put a extra alt in my truck in place of the a/c compressor and I have a harness that I got with it. It has a black wire and a red with black stripe on the harness, I also put a smaller pulley on it to make it spin faster at lower rpms. I also have 0 ga wire back to my system. Can I hook my 0 ga right to the alt, and also what do I do with the wires on the harness.

Thanks alot

the wires on the harness are probably for the voltage sensing. (so the regulator in the alt knows the voltage being put out.)

do you have any more information on the alt? Maybe try and contact the manufacturer or place that you bought it from and see if they know anything about it.

I pulled it off a 91 s10 blazer and took the harness with it, it was a delco alt, I brought it to work to test it and it puts out 175 amps, also is it ok to run 0 ga off of it to my sytem or no. I 'm 100% sure that the red and black wire it the turn on and the black goes to the volt meter in the car cause I looked in the hanes manual and that what it says. Anyways I think I'm going to try it.

Thanks alot
