Alternator went today. What should I get?

Hey guys

My alternator died on me today. I am looking for some input on what brands are best and what size I will need. I have a 1996 tahoe with a SAZ-1500d and ks300.4 and a kinetic hc1400 in the back on an optima upfront. I always have some phone or ipod charging as well. What do you think I will need with a little room for additions but not much more.

I bought a DC alternator...two months ago...still haven't got it. And there customer support s ucks so much d ick, took me 5 times and over two weeks of me contacting them to get a hold. Looks like I won't have it for a while still. Go with someone more reliable. I am sure it will be kick *** but if I had to do it again with their support I would never have.

Yeah, well I'm on the other side. Called up ordered it and it shipped the next day. They forgot to include an extension harness and they overnighted it to me when I contacted them about it. With DC I always tell people to call and ask if its in stock. If they say they need some part or somthing. Go with another company or call back whenever they say it will be in and find out if its in stock

Listen to this. Contacted them the day I ordered and they replied back instantly (of course possible order why wouldn't they?!) and said it was in stock. A week went by and the status didn't change so I emailed and called them...voicemail and no reply to email for days and days. Now it takes over two weeks for them to contact me back. I even left a voicemail telling them to ******* leave me a voicemail back because I would be at work with the status of my order...That was last week monday and still nothing lol. **** that ****. Give me my alt lol

 
you really don't have all that much power.. what is the oem one rated at for those? unless you plan on upgrading an oem of 150+ should be able to handle your needs unless you play tones all day.. because an aftermarket one while nice, they have a lower idle output than your stock one does usually..

Wow, never had that happen before. I've done exactly what I said for 2 of my alts and a couple for friends of mine and never had a problem. The DC horror stories always puzzle me because I never had an issue. Although, I can say if I ever had an issue like this personally I'd for a new company for myself.
