Alternator resell value? Need help!

Hey guys... quick question. Never dealt with selling an alternator before.. so I'm a little unsure of how good the resell value is.

Basically, I have a DC Power 270XP alternator for an '06 Scion TC. It has an upgraded GM regulator that puts the voltage setpoint at 15.0v. It is roughly a year old, but I sent it back to DC Power a little over 2 months ago to get the previously stated upgrade. I didn't originally buy it w/ the GM regulator.

Originally paid $630 new for this alternator.

My question is... what would be an appropriate asking price for this type of alternator? Given that it's in perfect condition, recently returned to the company for upgrade AND functionality testing (which it passed perfectly), and roughly a year old?

Any comments are appreciated.

Used alts can be a hard sell, they are so specific to certain vehicles. I would throw it up for $400-475 shipped. Its all about waiting for the right buyer though.

also they can be recased for other vehicles, so that might help you sell it, but price would have to come down as it's around $150 to recase them...

Here's the problem, some people may not want it at 15.0v; Some amps will start to go into protect at that voltage, so that could cause a problem; I'd put it at around $300 - $325; People just aren't gonna pay that much for your used alternator that you no longer want. They sorta look at it like you might need the money, so they're gonna try to offer you as little as possible.
