Alternator question

Would a new alternator be needed? My current alter does 60-70 at idle and 160 at max rpm. I'm running an Alpine PDX-4.100 and plan to upgrade to a 1500-2500watt amp....

Have two Kinetik Hc1400s, one in front and one in back. Big 3 with 0 gauge. I think I may have a slight but i can't tell dim with the alpine pdx and orion 1200d....

What would be a good alternator's idle for my upgrade? Also where can I get the HO alter? eBay is where i bought the current alter...but need a higher output..

Also will HO alter hurt gas mileage?

get the new amp and see what happens. 160max is pretty good but it all depends on if the alternator is actually producing what is advertised.

If you need to upgrade get the most powerful alternator that your budget will allow so you will never have to upgrade again. Same with the batteries, the biggest you can afford. That way you will not have to worry about them being up to par.

Not a problem, I may pick me one up from there sooner or later also. Seems like a pretty good website with some nice alternators.
