Alternator Question.

I'm wanting to know if a 140amp alternator will be enough in my Integra? It comes stock with a 60amp. I have done the "big 3" upgrades already.

System is a pair of Rockford amps (P6002 and P4004) soon to be switched to a bd1000 or bd1500 to replace the 6002. Nothing fancy, just want the lights to stop dimming and the electrical system to be happy.

I would thing it would be enough. How bad is your dimming?

Pretty bad at high volume.

Anyone else have anything? I want to make sure that I'm feeding enough for the entire system. I have an Optima 800u Red Top that I just got. Haven't put it in yet because I'm sure my current alt is bad and I don't want to ruin the Optima.

I would think you'd still have some high volume dimming, but 140A should be plenty to do what the alt's supposed to do.

the alt will help some but just remember your car also draws ampreage so not all that will go to the amp.and if your looking for reserve then another battery is a better choice.
